A Eugene man was sentenced to nearly six years in prison for running a scam in which he pre-sold collectable sneakers online, but failed to fulfill many of the orders — to the tune of $65 million in total. Federal prosecutors described Michael Malekzadeh as having a “lavish lifestyle” that included a Lamborghini sports car, luxury bags, jewelry and watches. Jaime Adame has the story.
Gov. Tina Kotek pushed a plan through the Legislature last fall to raise the gas tax and vehicle registration fees to help fund ODOT.
