Video shows man attempting to run over Henderson officers with stolen construction vehicle

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Security footage, 911 calls, and body-worn camera footage show what unfolded at a Henderson construction site that led to a man attempting to run over police officers with a front loader.

Shortly before 9:10, officers with the Henderson Police Department responded to the 600 block of North Water Street on Sunday, Jan. 4, for a reported theft of a front loader construction vehicle, Deputy Chief Matthew Murnane said during a Wednesday news conference.

Murnane said the investigation “remains an active ongoing investigation and details may evolve as additional evidence is reviewed.”

Before officers arrived, the person who called 911 told dispatch they had security video of a male suspect, later identified as Juan Rincon Carreno, 33, jumping a fence into a secure construction site and attempting to “hotwire” a piece of heavy equipment.

“We had somebody hop the fence, and it looks like he’s hot-wiring one of the bulldozers right now,” the caller said…
