Violent crime crackdown in Cincinnati leads to 5 arrests, illegal firearms seized

CINCINNATI (WKRC) – In a concerted effort to curb violent crime, Cincinnati law enforcement, in collaboration with state agencies, executed a successful operation on Jan. 6, 2026, resulting in five felony arrests and the seizure of two illegally possessed firearms.

This initiative, part of Gov. Mike DeWine’s Violent Crime Reduction Initiative, marked the first operation of the year, following a series of similar efforts in 2025 that led to 521 felony arrests and the confiscation of 175 illegal firearms across 23 Ohio communities.
