FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A man with a gunshot wound was hospitalized Thursday in life-threatening condition, leading police to investigate whether foul play was involved.
He was injured at a home in the 1100 block of Franklin Avenue, in the Nebraska neighborhood west of downtown Fort Wayne, shortly before 8:30 a.m. A Fort Wayne Police Department officer at the scene told WANE 15 investigators believed the man had somehow shot himself in the arm. The officer also said the man’s injury was initially deemed to be minor.
But in a press release shared later that morning, the man’s wound had been downgraded to life-threatening.
