TENNESSEE — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is investigating the death of a man at the Hamblen County Jail, authorities said.
According to TBI, the man was identified as Mitchell Smith, 36. The Hamblen County Sheriff’s Office said foul play is not suspected at this time. Officials said they believe Smith’s death may be health-related, but the exact cause has not yet been determined and is pending the results of an autopsy.
