TALLAHASSEE, Florida — Edwin Antonio Rodriguez-Gonzalez, a 31-year-old from El Salvador, has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of illegal entry by a deported alien and assault of a government official. The announcement was made by John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.
Rodriguez-Gonzalez appeared for his arraignment in federal court before United States Magistrate Judge Martin A. Fitzpatrick in Tallahassee, Florida. A jury trial is scheduled for February 3, 2026, at 8:30 a.m., before Chief District Court Judge Allen C. Winsor. If convicted, Rodriguez-Gonzalez faces up to three years’ imprisonment.
The case was investigated by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations and the Florida Highway Patrol.
