Lincoln man sentenced for killing Ceresco police officer in 2024 crash

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The Lincoln man who investigators said was driving distracted when he hit and killed a Ceresco Police officer in 2024 was sentenced Thursday.

Tony Pierce, 51, was sentenced to more than two years in jail by a judge. His license was also revoked for two years.

On Oct. 29, 2025, a Lancaster County District Court judge found Pierce guilty of felony motor vehicle homicide. He previously changed his plea from not guilty to no contest…
