Video game retailer closing more stores: List includes Upstate NY locations

A popular video game retailer is closing more stores in 2026.

GameStop has closed or will close more locations this month, according to Fast Company and other reports. At least 20 stores in New York state on the company’s website are now listed as closed.

Upstate New York locations that have shuttered include GameStop stores in Amsterdam, Depew, Evans Mills, Herkimer, Hudson, Monticello, Poughkeepsie, Victor, and Webster. Those are in addition to more than 20 stores in Upstate NY that closed in 2025…
