Former College of Saint Rose campus pool set to reopen

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Despite the cold temperatures, Albany County swimmers can soon hit the pool at the former College of Saint Rose campus in the coming weeks. The pool will begin a phased reopening on January 12.

Announced on Thursday by Albany County Executive Dan McCoy, the reopening of the former college’s events and athletic center follows a complete renovation. Officials said the pool’s rehabilitation was necessary following the college’s closure in 2023 and bankruptcy in 2024, which led to years of disrepair.

Registration is required for swimming lessons, open lap swims, and Aqua Zumba, and can be completed online through RecDesk. Below is the schedule for the phased reopening and the times when lessons are offered.
