MCDOWELL COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — Two people were transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries following a reported head-on collision on Jan. 5 in McDowell County.
According to the Marion Police Department’s report, Dakota Russell was driving without a driver’s license when he struck Aericka Whitehead on Sugar Hill Road near the Dunkin Donuts in Marion.
The police report said that Russell was traveling East on Sugar Hill Road while Whitehead was traveling West. Police said that Russell failed to maintain his lane and crossed over the center line, colliding into Whitehead. The accident was reported just after 6:30 p.m. Jan. 5…
