After a dry spell in East Tennessee, heavy rain is finally back in the forecast.
“Excessive” rain is forecast for Knoxville, Gatlinburg and East Tennessee on Friday, Jan. 9, and into Saturday, Jan. 10. There is an 80% chance that Knoxville will get more than 2 inches of rain on Friday and a 15% chance that more than 4 inches of rain could fall, according to the National Weather Service.
