Study continues into Detroit to Traverse City passenger rail line

MID-MICHIGAN (WJRT) – Plans are underway to introduce passenger rail service through Michigan’s Lower Peninsula, potentially connecting Detroit and Traverse City.

The North-South Rail project aims to establish this service on state-owned tracks that pass through Durand, Mount Pleasant and Clare. Both state and federal funding have been secured for the project, which is currently in the study phase.
