BCPD: 2 arrested in connection with New Year’s shooting

EMMETT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A search warrant led to the arrests of two men Wednesday who police say are connected to a New Year’s Day shooting in Battle Creek.

A 21-year-old man and 32-year-old man were both arrested Wednesday after hundreds of rounds of live ammunition and a stolen firearm were found during a search of a home on Columbia Avenue, according to the Battle Creek Police Department.

A warrant to search the home had been issued in connection with a shooting that happened in the early hours of Jan. 1 on Kingman Avenue near Inn Road in Battle Creek, police said. It’s not clear if anyone was injured in that shooting or what led up to it…
