1. DA’s office won’t pursue charges in janitor’s death at Syracuse charter school
First responders were called to the Syracuse Academy of Science Charter School in January 2025 to check on a report of a man, identified as 46-year-old Brian Deforge, suffering cardiac arrest. While there, Syracuse fire officials found high levels of carbon monoxide in the kitchen.
