‘I’ll never give up’: Fairfield mayor seeks justice for her childhood friend

The mayor of Fairfield says one of her closest childhood friends was brutally murdered nearly four decades ago in Solano County. The killer has never been caught, but the mayor is determined to change that.

Fairfield Mayor Catherine Moy describes one of the closest childhood friends as “kind” and “funny.” Moy has countless memories of Bernadette Anderson who she met at age 14 – a girl who loved to pull pranks, including on family RV trips.

“The RV we had had this quirk, which was you should not flush the toilet when you were driving because it would stink up the whole place. So, she would wait until we’d be on the road and then she would go do it and then she would die laughing,” Moy said…
