New Orleans nurse perseveres after paralysis and inspires patients

NEW ORLEANS (InvestigateTV) — Ray’Mon Lewis wheels himself to work each day at Ochsner Medical Center, where he serves patients as Louisiana’s only nurse who uses a wheelchair.

Lewis knew from elementary school that he wanted to help others, inspired by watching his grandmother work as a certified nursing assistant. He was also frequently in hospitals himself as a child after breaking multiple bones.
