CSPD: Security guard hit after alleged robbery

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A security guard is recovering in the hospital after allegedly being hit by a suspect’s car as he was fleeing the scene of a robbery.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), officers responded to a reported robbery around 1:15 p.m. on Thursday at a business in the 600 block of North Murray Boulevard, just north of Platte Avenue. Officers were advised that the suspect allegedly hit a security guard with his car as he was running from the scene.

CSPD said a marked patrol unit spotted the suspect vehicle heading south on Murray near Airport Road and attempted to pull the car over; however, the car sped away and headed toward North Academy Boulevard.
