A Tuesday afternoon accident between three vehicles on a Boise highway injured two drivers and impeded traffic for over an hour. Idaho State Police responded to the crash and were assisted by Ada County Fire and Ada County Paramedics.
In a report from the Idaho State Police, it states that the accident happened on Tuesday, January 6th, at 2:51 PM on Interstate 84 at mile marker 53. ISP described the cause of the accident in their report:
- A 2021 Volkswagen Atlas, driven by a 25-year-old female from Boise, and a 2021 International semi, driven by a 37-year-old male from Caldwell, were traveling westbound on I84.
- The Volkswagen collided with the rear of the semi when the semi began to slow down for a disabled motorist up ahead.
- The driver of the Volkswagen then struck a 2002 Chevrolet S Truck, driven by a 25-year-old male from Meridian, that was also traveling westbound.
The pickup truck was pushed into the westbound ramp lanes, and the Volkswagen ended up on the right shoulder of the highway next to the Boise airport. Both drivers were taken to a local hospital. The driver of the semi-truck was not transported for medical attention.
