Las Vegas fire captains retire after decades of service

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Las Vegas Fire and Rescue celebrated the retirements of Captain Charles Sudberry and Captain Mark Vendetti Wednesday afternoon.

Both captains served Las Vegas Fire and Rescue for 25 years and were part of the Technical Rescue Team assigned to Station 44. They leave with the gratitude of their peers, countless community members and the fire department as a whole.

“There were some tears inside that building because they are family. It’s like no other job. I mean we live here really a third of our working lives with these guys and they’d do anything for us, we’d do anything for them. It’s just amazing,” said Ryan Sudbury, retired LVFR captain…
