Portage APL fixes, vaccinates 57 stray cats from trailer park to curb population, care for illnesses

RAVENNA, Ohio (WOIO) – The Portage Animal Protective League helped 57 stray and feral cats from a trailer park who needed veterinary care and to be fixed.

PAPL said the mission was part of their TNVR (trap, neuter, vaccinate, return) operation “in an effort to stop the inevitable pregnancies, injuries and illness” to curb the population after residents pleaded for help with the feline frenzy.

The operation took place last weekend “after months of planning and effort from countless people” and seven groups, according to PAPL.

“Dedicated volunteers spent countless hours setting traps, cleaning, transporting and even dealing with a fire and a 40 degree temperature drop and high winds,” said PAPL…
