Man acquitted of attempted murder in stabbing case

BAKESFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A Bakersfield man who repeatedly stabbed his brother with a kitchen knife was acquitted of attempted murder after his attorney argued he was trying to protect his sister and her friend, according to the Kern County Public Defender’s Office.

A jury on Wednesday also found Andy Burgos-Garcia not guilty of attempted voluntary manslaughter, but convicted him of assault with a deadly weapon.
