2 Pittsburgh business owners accused of EBT fraud

PITTSBURGH (WKBN) — Two Pittsburgh business owners are accused of committing EBT fraud, allegedly using funds to purchase goods sold in their restaurant and deli.

Attorney General Dave Sunday announced Wednesday that Rachna Anwar, 46, and Munir Chaudhri, 62, are facing numerous felony charges, including corrupt organizations and dealing in the proceeds of unlawful activity.

The Office of Attorney General investigation reported that the pair purchased EBT cards at a discount from individuals receiving the benefits, then used the cards to make more than $178,000 in purchases at Sam’s Club and other retailers.
