LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Old Town General Store, a thirteen-year-old neighborhood staple, will be closing at the end of March.
The announcement was made Wednesday morning, with store owner Rhea Van Atta posting on social media thanking the community for their support and saying retirement had been on the table for three years.
“It’s been a really good run, but something out there is calling to me. I need to put me first for once and return to myself,” wrote Van Atta. “So many things to get back to, new adventures to explore, and more time with my family; especially my three wonderful grandchildren.”
Van Atta says that while the store will officially close at the end of March, the process is already underway. Since the store needs to clear out its remaining inventory, everything will be on sale except for consignment items. Store fixtures will also be for sale, but at a later time…
