Showers are likely overnight, especially north and west of Interstate 85. All of the area will then have a chance of occasional showers Saturday until a cold front exits to the east Saturday night. A few thunderstorms could get involved Saturday, but the threat is fairly low. A few damaging wind gusts would be the main concern.
Rain totals near and north and west of I-85 look likely to be in the 0.5 to 1-inch range in most areas with lighter totals farther east. There is the chance for some 1 to 2-inch-plus totals in the southern mountains and foothills. Much colder and drier air will arrive for Sunday, and next week will be much chillier than this week.
