190+ school zones tickets issued in 2-day Cumberland County crackdown; Camaro driver busted ‘flying’ at 89 mph

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — As students returned to school following the Christmas and holiday break, law enforcement in Cumberland County cracked down on drivers in school zones this week, officials said Thursday.

For two days, deputies, troopers, and four police agencies launched “Operation Safe Passage” with a “critical goal” of keeping children safe, according to a Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office news release.
