JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said Friday that it is investigating two separate in-custody deaths that occurred on Thursday and Friday morning.
JSO said one of the incidents under investigation involved 41-year-old Matthew Jason Hutchins, who police say was originally being held in state prison on a second-degree murder charge before he was transferred into JSO’s custody on April 4, 2024.
