KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — One person was arrested during a protest against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement protests near Kalamazoo City Hall Thursday night, police say.
A woman is facing two counts of resisting and obstructing arrest after police say she was obstructing traffic and creating a safety concern for motorists and protestors during Thursday night’s protest, a spokesperson for the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety told News 8.
In a statement, the spokesperson said the woman walked into the roadway on W. South Street at which point officers and other protestors tried to get her to move out of the way of traffic, but she refused. Officers allege that she tried to flee into the crowd when they went to arrest her, she was eventually detained by officers on bikes.
