Savannah man found guilty of illegally possessing firearm, DOJ says

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — A 39-year-old Savannah man was found guilty of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person following a 2024 vehicle and foot pursuit with police.

Benjamin Michael Greene, 39, was arrested on Feb. 12, 2024, according to officials. Greene jumped into the driver’s seat of a man’s car while he was putting air in his tires and took off.

After Savannah Police officers in the area responded to the incident, Greene led the officers on a chase. Greene crashed the vehicle into a telephone pole and proceeded to flee from police on foot, a U.S. Attorney’s Office Southern District of Georgia spokesperson said…
