Green Bay Police Department issues statement on recruit officer’s tattoos

GREEN BAY, Wis–The Green Bay Police Department issues a statement regarding tattoos on a new officer recruit.

The department posted a photo of a swearing-in ceremony for five officers on its Facebook page this week. The comment section was filled with accusations that a tattoo on the arm of Officer Ross Walden is that of the “Three Percenters”, which has been accused of being a hate group.

Chief Chris Davis issued a statement saying that Walden got the tattoo while serving as a Marine overseas, and that it represent opposition to tyranny. The “Three Percenters” claim that just that amount of Colonial Americans fought in the Revolutionary War.

Chief Davis adds that Walden underwent an extensive background check before being hired–and that found no evidence of questionable behavior, bias, or prejudice against others…
