SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WTVO) — Four Illinois sheriff’s offices transferred illegal immigrants into the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, despite the state’s sanctuary laws, a new report shows.
According to the Illinois Attorney General’s Office, in 2024, four sheriff’s offices transferred individuals in custody to ICE once they received civil detainers.
