Sioux Falls citizens seek vote on data center rezoning

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO)– After Wednesday night’s city council meeting several Sioux Falls citizens are looking to take the city’s decision on rezoning land for future use for a data center to a vote.

Data center has more steps to construction

In a Wednesday night city council meeting, the city approved rezoning a northeastern Sioux Falls area to be a light industrial district in a vote of 7-0. Gemini Data Center LLC is looking to build a data center using 164 acres of land.

Many residents spoke against the rezoning during the meeting. About 65 people spoke about the rezoning of the property.
