On December 30th, 2025, police responded to multiple scenes across Mercer Island and Issaquah during a deadly shooting investigation that began with a welfare check.
Officers conducting a welfare check at a home on Mercer Island discovered a woman in her 70 year-old and her son, a man in his late 40s, both deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. Investigators stated it was believed the son shot his mother before taking his own life.
As the investigation continued, authorities learned the suspect may have also traveled to a second residence in Issaquah. Officers responded to that location and discovered two additional deceased individuals, one adult male and one adult female…
