WEATHER AWARE: Strong to Severe Storms Possible Today; Cooler Air On The Way!

TODAY (WEATHER AWARE):We are WEATHER AWARE today for the possibility of strong to severe storms, all ahead of a strong front. Behind it we’ll see temperatures finally come down after nearly a week of highs in the 70s.

A line of showers and storms will be approaching the Chattahoochee Valley late morning into early afternoon with the chance for some storms to be strong to severe. The biggest threats will be damagaing wind gusts to 60 mph, and some flash flooding could be possible too with the heavy rain. There is a tornado threat that is pretty low, but it’s not zero. Highs today will be in the mid 70s, close to 20° above average! Late afternoon, the severe weather threat should be over and most of the rain should be out of here. Then, a front arrives early evening to help start bringing in some much cooler air.

SUNDAY: We’ll start out with some clouds, but those will be on the decrease as the day goes along, and a second front will come through during the day to help re-enforce the cooler and much more stable air. Highs on Sunday will be in the mid 50s. It will be a bit breezy with wind gusts to 25-30 mph…
