Data breach may expose medical records and Social Security numbers of 103,000 South Carolinians

COLUMBIA, S.C. — More than 100,000 South Carolinians may receive notification that their personal health information and possible Social Security numbers have been leaked in a data breach, according to information recently provided to the state.

The South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs (SCDCA) said it was notified on Wednesday that a data breach at HCIactive in the middle of 2025 may have involved data from 103,000 residents.
