The man who was reportedly detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in West Hollywood this week has been identified as 73-year-old Alberto Cabral, according to neighbors and a fundraising campaign established by community members.
Cabral was reported missing Wednesday morning while tending to his regular landscaping route in West Hollywood. Witnesses said he was taken into custody on Gardner Avenue near Hampton Avenue.
A homeowner in the 1200 block of Gardner Avenue said the man detained was his gardener of about 10 years. The homeowner said ICE agents, wearing masks, detained Cabral without asking questions, placed him into a vehicle and drove away…
