Man faces judge after fatally shooting intruder in East Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — An East Memphis man who shot and killed a would-be robber early Thursday morning appeared for the first time before a judge on Friday.

Marques Griffin, 30, was booked in the Shelby County Jail hours after the shooting in the 1200 block of Robin Hood Lane.

According to the affidavit of complaint, Griffin told police he fired three shots at the intruder after he ran out of his apartment.
