Moneybagg Yo donates $20K to Memphis schools program for teen parents

Memphis rapper Moneybagg Yo made a visit to Memphis-Shelby County Schools students on Jan. 9.

DeMario White, known professionally as Moneybagg Yo, announced a $20,000 donation to support the MSCS Youth Advocacy Program at Invictus Academy at Airways. The program aims to support and advocate for teen parents, according to MSCS, and hopes to increase teen parent graduation rates and promote secondary education goals.

Moneybagg Yo is from Memphis and attended Mitchell High School. He became a parent as a teen, and according to MSCS, is “deeply committed to giving back to the community,” and helping teen parents have access to support, resources, and “opportunities needed to thrive.”…
