AROUND TOWN: Mayor, residents urge Ted’s to ignore haters

Hundreds of community members, including several elected officials, are coming to the defense of Ted’s Montana Grill after the restaurant’s CEO said negative social media comments drove the restaurant off from building on a long-vacant lot on Marietta Square.

George McKerrow, CEO and co-founder of Ted’s Montana Grill, told the Journal Thursday the decision came after the original MDJ announcement and subsequent social media postings led to an outpouring of public criticism.

The property at 77 North Park Square has remained empty since 2010, when former Councilman Philip Goldstein razed the former Cuthbertson building, earning it the moniker “the Goldstein gap.”…
