Manatee County Hosts Free Cleanup Event, Residents Invited to Dispose of Bulky Waste Responsibly

Manatee County residents have the opportunity to rid their homes of unwanted items, as the county government hosts a free community cleanup event tomorrow, January 10. According to the official Manatee County, Florida Government Facebook page, locals can bring numerous types of bulky waste to designated drop-off locations, ensuring a more clutter-free environment within their domiciles.

Accepted items for disposal include regular-sized tires, large appliances such as refrigerators, stoves, and washers or dryers, as well as furniture pieces like sofas, mattresses, tables, and chairs. People can also drop off their yard waste, provided it’s contained in paper bags or properly tied and bundled and does not exceed four feet in length or forty pounds in weight. Moreover, recyclables are also welcome at the cleanup.

There are, however, materials that the cleanup will not accept. These include any form of household hazardous waste—which encompasses paint, chemicals, fuel, oil, propane—and various types of electronics like TVs, computers, monitors, and printers.
