TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. (WTOC) – The only way on and off Tybee Island will remain the same for now after the island’s city council unanimously voted against the Georgia Department of Transportation’s updated proposals about U.S. Highway 80.
Members including Tony Ploughe said they appreciated GDOT’s ideas and support their involvement in improving safety on the major roadway. But, join with the 70% of people who participated and disapproved the plans at Georgia DOT’s Highway 80 Open House meeting last month.
It splits the corridor into three segments: Lazaretto Creek to Teresa Lane, Teresa Ln. to Jones Avenue, and Jones Ave. to Tybrisa Street…
