Central Iowa hospital delays elective surgeries due to high patient volume

DES MOINES, Iowa (KCCI) – UnityPoint Health – Des Moines has delayed elective surgeries due to an increase in patient volume, KCCI reports.

The hospital will postpone elective surgeries and procedures requiring overnight stays from January 8 through January 13 to focus resources on patients with the most urgent needs, according to a statement.
