NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) – Students at Lincoln Elementary will get a chance to sing on a bigger stage this month after a surprise visit from the North Platte Public Schools Foundation and Fat Dogs’ “Reaching One Classroom at a Time” program.
Janette Kammerer, music teacher at Lincoln Elementary and preschool music instructor at Buffalo Early Learning Center, was surprised by foundation volunteers during the classroom visit. Kammerer, who also serves as the Nebraska Choral Directors Association (NCDA) children’s chair and coordinates state sites, says the event gives local students a rare opportunity.
“It’s for students in 4th, 5th and 6th grade. They audition with their teachers and then they get to learn new music and get to sing with other kids across Nebraska,” Kammerer said…
