Bedroom Fire Damages Northeast Lincoln Home

LINCOLN–(KFOR Jan. 8)–A fire late Thursday morning left behind about $12,000 worth of damage at a northeast Lincoln home.

LFR was called to the scene just after 10:30am on the northwest corner of 73rd and Fairfax, where no visible fire was seen on arrival. Once inside the house, firefighters found flames in a bedroom and declared it a working incident. Crews got the fire under control in a short amount of time and fire damaged was contained to the bedroom.

LFR public information officer MJ Lierman told KFOR News at the scene the fire appeared to be electrical in nature, but later confirmed it when investigators determined the failure was from a mini-fridge connection to the outlet it was plugged into.
