Milwaukee’s DT2 Towing Faces License Denial Amid Accusations of Illegal Practices and Predatory Tactics

Milwaukee’s DT2 Towing has come under severe scrutiny after the city’s Licensing Committee voted unanimously to not renew its license, a decision anchored firmly on allegations of illegal towing practices and extortionate demands for cash-only payments from car owners; this, according to reports by WISN 12 News.

Highlighting the predatory nature of the complaints, Alderwoman Andrea Pratt expressed her frustration with DT2 Towing, saying “Every day I get a call about you. Every single day,” while stories from disgruntled residents like Annie Smith, who found her legally parked car towed on Christmas Day 2024, and Terreea Shropshire, who experienced a similar fate during a quick visit to Walgreens buttering the hostility towards the company’s business practices, according to a FOX6 report.

Following public backlash, DT2 owner Don Thurmond appeared before the Licensing Committee, saying he has implemented changes to his business practices and is willing to make additional adjustments in response to concerns. However, his remarks did not persuade committee members, and the city is expected to make a final decision in the coming weeks.
