Amarillo College Theatre Students earn Kennedy Center honors

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Amarillo College theatre students earned recognitions from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival for their production of “A Streetcar Named Desire” by Tennessee Williams.

According to AC officials, the production received honors across acting, design, stage management, and ensemble work.

“This recognition speaks to the commitment, discipline, and artistry these students brought to this challenging work,” said Carissa Wilson, director of A Streetcar Named Desire and Amarillo College instructor of theatre arts. “They took on a demanding classic with courage and care, and I could not be prouder of the growth and professionalism they demonstrated throughout the process.”
