ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – The man who pleaded guilty to fatally striking a St. Louis police officer has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.
In October, Ramon Chavez-Rodriguez pleaded guilty to a DWI-Death of a law enforcement officer and driving without a valid Missouri license in the death of Officer David Lee. On Thursday, he was sentenced to 15 years in prison, which will run concurrently with his sentencing out of St. Charles for domestic assault.
Officer Lee was fatally struck on Interstate 70 near Adelaide Avenue in September 2024. When he was hit, Officer Lee was helping with a previous crash.
