SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Court documents submitted by the Springfield Police Department (SPD) outline the investigation into the homicide of Suzette Flores and the arrest of Felipe Ayala.
According to the probable cause statement, on Wednesday, Jan. 7, at 11.22 p.m., SPD responded to a report from a juvenile caller saying his father was hitting his mother. When an officer arrived, they observed a man inside the garage of a residence on the 3500 block of S. Juniper Avenue.
The man was identified as Felipe Ayala. As he was being detained, the officer noticed droplets of blood on various parts of Ayala’s body. The blood splatter was said to be consistent with blood transfer with velocity and no smearing, indicating the amount was not a result of life-saving measures.
