Armed individual apprehended at Loveland hotel: police

DENVER (KDVR) — An individual armed with a firearm inside a Hampton Inn in Loveland was “safely apprehended” by police on Friday, police said.

The Loveland Police Department, in an advisory to the public at about 7:30 p.m., said Loveland SWAT was responding to the Hampton Inn at 5500 Stone Creek Circle in connection with an active criminal investigation.

Members of the community were urged to avoid the area, if possible. LPD, in an update at 9:30 p.m., said, in an effort to quell “circulating rumors,” that no hostage situation occurred, no officer discharged a weapon, no physical injuries were reported by bystanders and no exterior threat “extended beyond the immediate location.”

“Community safety remained the priority throughout the response. The area stayed closed and will remain so for an extended period as investigative work continues,” the agency said at that time…
