Former CO Paramedic Appeals Conviction in Ketamine Death

A former Aurora firefighter-paramedic is asking the Colorado Court of Appeals to overturn his conviction for criminally negligent homicide in the 2019 death of Elijah McClain.

Jeremy Cooper, a former Aurora Fire Rescue lieutenant, was convicted for administering a fatal dose of ketamine to McClain, a 23-year-old Black man who was detained by police after a report of suspicious behavior.
