Woodburn Mayor Frank Lonergan is demanding U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers immediately cease all operations in Woodburn.
Lonergan joins many other officials statewide calling for ICE to stand down after federal immigration officers shot and killed an unarmed U.S. citizen Wednesday, Jan 7, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
“I watched in horror the killing of Renee Good in Minneapolis by ICE. We stand with the residents of Minneapolis and pray for the family of Renee Good. And may justice be served,” Lonergan said in his statement. “The escalation of violence and aggressive tactics used by federal agents against peaceful, hard-working people and those exercising their protected constitutional rights is unacceptable and demands accountability.”…
